New North Korean book on Kim Jong Un skips Trump’s dramatic Hanoi Summit walkout

The 621-page biography highlights one U.S.-DPRK summit, but not the other

North Korea just released a new, 621-page biography on its leader, “great man” Kim Jong Un — and experts say it skips over the country’s recent failures while painting a rosy, propagandistic picture of major North Korean diplomatic events.

The book, released on North Korea’s state-run Uriminzokkiri outlet, is called “Great Man and the Age of a Strong Nation” and describes Kim’s 2018 Singapore summit with Trump as “the meeting that shook the earth.” However, the book fails to mention the Feb. 2019 Hanoi summit, which ended in Trump abruptly walking out of his meeting with Kim and the present halt in nuclear negotiations.
