Seoul is just hours away from passing a bill that can jail North Korea activists

A days-long filibuster is set to end soon, and legal experts say the bill will likely become law.

During a two-day-long filibuster, Seoul’s lawmakers clashed over a controversial bill that could jail or fine people for sending informational fliers and propaganda leaflets over the border into North Korean territory.

The National Assembly’s vote on the “anti-leaflet” bill has been delayed since last Wednesday after the opposing, conservative People’s Power Party staged multiple filibusters.
