Moon’s reaction to shooting victim’s death risks his party’s time in office

North Korean soldiers killed government worker from South on Sept. 22, and Moon took six days to state his condolences

Moon Jae-in’s North Korean human rights agenda is again being questioned by South Korean conservatives. The Democratic Minjoo Party’s once-popular inter-Korean policies have stalled, and as Moon makes perceived blunders in the human rights realm, his support has also decreased.

If Moon continues to lose support for his inter-Korean policies, he will have two options: change policy or risk the conservatives entering the Blue House after his five-year term is up.
