Trump: US doing ‘fine’ on North Korea, but 2020 elections slowing progress

Countries like North Korea would be trying to strike a deal "within 24 hours" if it weren't an election year, Trump says

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington is "doing fine" on security and diplomacy issues surrounding North Korea, and that the United States would be able to start negotiating a deal "within 24 hours" if it weren't for the upcoming 2020 presidential elections.

Speaking at an interview with Fox and Friends on Wednesday morning, Trump said that U.S. foreign affairs would look very different if it weren't an election year. Americans are expected to cast their ballots soon, with Election Day slated for Nov. 3.
