Top White House aide reiterates U.S. calls for talks with North Korea

National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien says U.S. remains "committed to engagement" with DPRK

U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien has called on North Korea to avoid provocations and emphasized continued American openness to diplomacy, in remarks delivered Tuesday commemorating the outbreak of the Korean War.

Speaking at an online event hosted by the Center for the National Interest, the White House advisor said that U.S. President Donald Trump had "forged a relationship" with North Korean leader leader Kim Jong Un during past meetings and remained willing to pursue diplomacy with Pyongyang.
