The Japanese Prime Minister on Wednesday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the repatriation of citizens kidnapped by North Korea, in the wake of the death last week of a long-time activist for the abductee cause.

Speaking to the Budget Committee of the Japanese House of Representatives, Shinzo Abe apologized for lack of progress on the issue.
