Seoul is willing to hold talks with Pyongyang over reported plans to demolish South Korean-built facilities at the Mount Kumgang resort “at any time,” a Ministry of Unification (MOU) spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Responding to Kim Jong Un’s purported order to “remove all” South Korean-built facilities in the Mount Kumgang area, spokesperson Lee Sang-min said Seoul was keen to discuss the matter with Pyongyang soon.

“When the North makes a request on the relevant matter, we will have a discussion from the perspective of protecting our people’s property rights… and the resumption and activation of tourism, at any time,” he said.
