South Korea proposes face-to-face meetings with North over Mount Kumgang issue

"Unilateral action" by the DPRK against ROK-owned property may harm relations, MOU says

The South Korean government has asked North Korea for face-to-face working-level talks over the North's purported plans to demolish Southern-owned property at the Mount Kumgang resort, the Ministry of Unification (MOU) said Monday.

The proposal follows North Korea's suggestion late last week that the two could discuss the issue by means of exchanging documents and that a delegation of South Koreans would need to visit the site "on an agreed date."
