Close Kim-Trump relationship no guarantee of peace, North Korean official warns

Kim Yong Chol accuses Washington of continued "delaying tactics" in diplomacy

The reported "good" relationship between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump is no guarantee that tensions will not flare up between the two countries, a senior DPRK official said Sunday, warning that an "exchange of fire" could break out at any time.

In a statement, ruling party Central Committee vice-chairman Kim Yong Chol in his capacity as chairman of the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee (KAPPC) accused the U.S. of continuing its "hostile policy" towards the DPRK through a series of recent public statements.
