North Korean externally-focused outlets on Monday denounced the U.S. for intervening in inter-Korean issues and continuing its “tyranny,” emphasizing the importance of “national cooperation.”

In a Korean-language commentary that comes ahead of an expected U.S.-South Korea summit in New York on Monday, North Korean online outlet the Meari described attempts to tie North-South relations to the nuclear issue as an “intolerable insult.”

“The tyranny of a robber is continuing,” the article said. “The U.S. intervention in internal matters of our nation is leading to wanton infringement of the nation’s dignity and interests.”

The U.S., it continued, “is compelling the South Korean authorities
