South Korea will dispose of a body believed to have been a North Korean national as Pyongyang has been unresponsive to Seoul's notification for almost two weeks amid a deadlock in inter-Korean relations, the South Korean Ministry of Unification (MOU) said on Monday.
After the body was found in the Imjin River in Paju on July 31, relevant South Korean government agencies conducted a joint investigation. The agencies involved came to the conclusion that the body is likely to have floated down from the North.
