A South Korean government-sponsored research institute on Wednesday unveiled plans to set up a new body aimed at developing and operating inter-Korean infrastructure projects.

Speaking at the Jeju Forum, the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology’s (KICT) Kim Byung-suk shared the organization’s plans for setting up the “Korean Peninsula Infrastructure Forum.”

Kim, who serves as Chairman of the KICT’s Korean Peninsula Infrastructure Special Committee, said the new organization would serve as a platform for building consensus and implementing inter-Korean economic projects.
