In our first-ever video episode of the NK News Podcast, we followed Nick Bonner, the co-founder of Koryo Tours, around the “Made in Chosun: Graphics from Everyday Life in the DPRK” exhibition in Seoul.

The exhibition, which is based on Bonner’s book and co-curated by Koryo Tours, features an impressive array of North Korea paraphernalia acquired by Bonner over a span of 25 years, since he first set up the tour company in 1993.

Take a look around the gallery with Bonner and our host Jacco Zwetsloot for a unique look into North Korean visual culture, discussion on how the North’s designs are beginning to resemble Western packaging, and how South Korea’s National Security Law posed some difficulties in importing certain objects into the country.

The exhibition will be open at the Hongik Daehangno Art Center until April 7, from 1000 to 1800 daily, excluding Mondays. The standard entrance fee is 13,000 KRW.

About the podcast: The “North Korea News Podcast” is a weekly podcast hosted exclusively by NK News, covering all things DPRK: from news to extended interview with leading experts and analysts in the field and insight from our very own journalists.
