Sri Lanka has “begun” implementing UN resolutions against North Korea, according to a Financial Action Task Force (FATF) statement provided to the country’s central bank. The Financial Action Task Force is an intergovernmental organization that combats money laundering and terrorist financing. FATF listed Sri Lanka’s implementation progress alongside numerous changes the country was making in order to get off the organizations “grey list”, a warning status that can eventually lead to blacklisting.
