South Korea cites "difference in perspective" with U.S., denies link to sanctions fears

South Korea's unification ministry on Wednesday expressed regret that some journalists were this week prevented from bringing equipment to an inter-Korean event at Mount Kumgang.

Around 250 South Koreans, including members of civic and religious groups and lawmakers attended the event, described as a “Joint meeting for the implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration and the Pyongyang Joint Declaration of September on the occasion of the New Year 2019" and held from Tuesday to Wednesday.
