North Korean state-run media on Monday denounced the South Korean military for conducting a series of low-key regional military drills and urged they be suspended.

In a commentary, the Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), condemned Seoul for staging a division-level field training exercise (FTX) simulating counter-terrorist and infiltration operations in Daegu city and North Gyeongsang Province earlier in the month.

North Korea’s highest-circulation newspaper also attacked tactical and cold weather training at the brigade and division-level in Gangwon and North Jeolla Province set to taking place this month and in early February.
