U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday his nomination of Heather Nauert for the position of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

The nomination follows an October announcement that the current Ambassador to the UN - Nikki Haley - would be stepping down from the position at the end of 2018.
