The UN Third Committee on Thursday adopted a resolution condemning North Korea’s ongoing human rights violations.

The document was cosponsored by 61 countries and will almost certainly be adopted by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) next month, for the 14th consecutive year.

The resolution expresses the deep concern “at the grave human rights situation, the pervasive culture of impunity and the lack of accountability for human rights violations in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.”
