South Korea on Tuesday released a U.S. sanctioned Russian ship which it detained in Busan port over the weekend.

The ship was prevented from leaving the port under UN resolutions, which give member states the power to interdict suspicious vessels.

“We have lifted the ban on the vessel as in our probe we didn’t found any violations committed by the ship,” South Korea’s foreign ministry said. 

“The cargo ship is now allowed to leave (South Korea) any time.”
