U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will discuss North Korean denuclearization when he travels to Singapore for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regional forum later this week, a senior State Department official said at a special briefing on Tuesday.

The unnamed official said Singapore would be a venue for Pompeo to attend four different multilateral meetings, including dialogues covering the ASEAN and East Asia summits (EAS) scheduled for November.

“In the East Asia Summit, or EAS ministerial, Secretary Pompeo will meet his 17 counterparts to address the region’s most critical security challenges, including the denuclearization of the DPRK,”
