The Sudanese government on Wednesday said it was calling off its military agreements with North Korea and that it was also establishing a committee to enforce UN measures.

While the country has not acknowledged the military cooperation before, the UN Panel of Experts (PoE) tasked with monitoring DPRK sanctions enforcement previously uncovered arms trade between the two countries in 2013.

“Sudan’s government would like to affirm that its defense production sector has canceled all contracts… with North Korea, and ended all relations, direct or through a third party,” the country’s foreign ministry said in a statement this week.
