North Korea’s national airline Air Koryo will begin to operate twice-weekly flights from Pyongyang to Samjiyon on Friday, the Pyongyang-linked online outlet Arirang-Meari reported on Thursday. The new domestic flights will take passengers to Ryanggang Province in the country’s northeast, where the sacred Mount Paektu is located. “The administration office of Air Koryo recently made the announcement that the regular lines between Pyongyang and Samjiyon will be operated from May 4,” the Arirang-Meari reported.
