UN humanitarian agencies seeking USD$111 million in N. Korea funding

Forty percent of North Koreans still lack food security and malnourishment is widespread

The UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Thursday announced the humanitarian community in the DPRK is looking for $111 million in funding to support six million North Koreans.

According to UN agencies working in the country over 40 percent of the population (over 10 million) suffer from chronic food insecurity and access to basic services remains limited.
