North Korean athletes and a Paralympic Committee delegation crossed the inter-Korean border on Wednesday morning to participate in their country’s first Winter Paralympics.

The DPRK delegation crossed the military demarcation line (MDL) at 0845 local time, the South Korean Ministry of Unification (MOU) said.

North Korea has sent a total of 20 athletes and their guardians to the games – which begin on Friday – with the group led by vice-chairperson of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled Jong Hyon.
