South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa will deliver a speech on North Korean human rights issues at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) next week, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on Thursday.

MOFA said Kang will visit Geneva between February 25 and 28 to attend the 37th session of the UNHRC and the Conference on Disarmament (CD).

The foreign ministry said Kang – who previously served as deputy secretary general of the UNHRC – will deliver a speech on “major concerns,” including North Korean human rights, on Monday afternoon.
