Family reunions must happen “as soon as possible,” says unification minister

Cho Myoung-gyon calls on Pyongyang to support meetings without preconditions

Reunions of families separated by the Korean War must happen as soon as possible and without preconditions, South Korea's unification minister said on Friday.

Speaking at a Lunar New Year ceremony held with members of separated families, Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon called on Pyongyang to accept Seoul's proposals to hold the meetings, which were last held over two years ago.
