The DPRK’s Korean People’s Army (KPA) violated the UN Armistice Agreement “twice” last week by firing at a North Korean soldier crossing to the South and crossing the military demarcation line (MDL), United Nations Command (UNC) said on Wednesday.

The announcement comes nine days after the defection of a North Korean soldier across the MDL at the Joint Security Area (JSA).

A press conference on Wednesday saw the UNC announce the results of a special investigation into the incident, and the release of CCTV footage of the soldier defecting to the South.
