U.S. lawmakers propose bill to stop Trump launching first strike on North Korea

Bill would limit defense funding to prevent attack on the DPRK without approval from Congress

Lawmakers in Washington introduced a bill on Thursday which would limit the President's ability to conduct both conventional and nuclear first strikes on North Korea without congressional approval.

The No Unconstitutional Strike Against North Korea Act of 2017 would restrict funding to the country's Department of Defense to prevent a pre-emptive strike on the DPRK without prior permission from the U.S. Congress.
