The U.S. has reached out to North Korea on the possibility of dialogue between the two countries, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Saturday.

Speaking to press in Beijing amid an Asia tour, Tillerson added that the U.S. has multiple means of communicating with North Korea, despite the two countries having no formal diplomatic relations.

“We are probing,” Tillerson said, in comments carried by Reuters. “So stay tuned… We ask: Would you like to talk? We have lines of communications to Pyongyang. We’re not a dark situation.”
