President Donald Trump on Sunday announced new travel restrictions prohibiting North Korean citizens from entering the United States.

The move is part of measures extending the President’s ban on the entry into the U.S. of passport holders from six Muslim-majority countries, which expired on Sunday.

The fresh restrictions include eight countries: North Korea, Chad, Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Venezuela, and Yemen.

The White House explained that the restrictions were tailored around “the unique conditions in and deficiencies of each country, as well as other country-specific considerations.”
