South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday agreed to put “strong pressure and sanctions to the maximum” in response to North Korea’s sixth nuclear test on Sunday, South Korea’s Blue House announced.

Blue House spokesperson Park Soo-hyun said that Moon and Abe held a 20-minute phone call at 1100 KST and “discussed in depth” countermeasures against the North’s most recent test.

Moon and Abe also agreed to push for new measures against Pyongyang through the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in their second phone call on North Korea in a week.
