Russia says Washington, North Korea should calm “hot heads”

Russia's diplomats again call for a 'suspension for suspension' approach

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday called the most recent back and forth between Washington and Pyongyang "unacceptable", saying that the countries involved should cool their hotheaded behavior.

Speaking at a press conference in New York a day after his address to the UN General Assembly, Russia's top diplomat once again reiterated the "suspension for suspension" proposal, a joint- initiative with Beijing that would halt joint U.S. - ROK military exercises in exchange for a moratorium on DPRK weapon testing.
