The U.S. is not considering the possibility of military action on the Korean Peninsula in the near future, South Korea’s top national security advisor Chung Eui-yong told lawmakers on Thursday.

Chung, Chief of the National Security Office (NSO) at the Blue House, made the comments during a closed-door meeting at the National Assembly with lawmakers from the ruling Democratic Party of Korea.
