U.S. Senate passes North Korea, Iran, Russia sanctions bill

New measures would target North Korea's finances, overseas labor, and shipping

The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a broad new sanctions bill targeting North Korea, Iran, and Russia by an overwhelming 97 - 2 majority.

The bill was originally aimed at punishing Russia for interference in last year's U.S. Presidential election, though additional legislation covering Iran and North Korea was added as it made its way through the House of Representatives.
