South Korea has no plan to conduct inter-Korean talks at the upcoming ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in August, a spokesperson for the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said on Thursday.

“The ARF meeting is usually the sole high-level regional security forum which North Korea attends,” MOFA spokesperson Cho June-hyuck said during a regular news briefing.

“But at this moment, we don’t have any detailed plan to hold the foreign ministerial talks between the South and the North on a specific occasion.”

The comments come a day after Alan Peter Cayetano, Secretary at the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs, confirmed to
