N. Korea claims U.S. made “official apology” for seizure of diplomatic package

Department of Homeland Security insists "no mistake" was made and that seizure was "lawful"

The U.S. State Department made an “official apology” to North Korea over an incident that saw U.S. officials seize a diplomatic package from a DPRK delegation at John F. Kennedy International Airport in June, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported late Tuesday.

Pyongyang reported on June 18 that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had “literally mugged” a delegation of North Korean diplomats at JFK International Airport in New York on June 16 and “forcibly took away a diplomatic package.”
