Moldova is not exporting domestic wines to North Korea and will not do so as long as UN sanctions are in place, a spokesperson for the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told NK News.

The comments directly contradict those of Moldova’s President Igor Dodon, who said on June 30 in a meeting with a North Korean delegation that Moldovan wine would shortly be on its way to the DPRK.

“Moldova is not currently exporting wine to DPRK and will not be exporting as long as sanctions are in place,” the Ministry told NK News via email on July 11.
