Beijing “does not hold the key” to stopping N. Korea: Chinese FM

Spokesperson calls for end to "China responsibility" approach to DPRK provocations

The Chinese government does not "hold the key" to resolving the issue of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, urging others to end the "China responsibility" approach to DPRK provocations.

Speaking to press as part of a regular briefing, spokesperson Geng Shuang argued that consensus in the international community was the only way North Korea would be convinced to relinquish its nuclear program.
