Citing N. Korean laborers, State Dept human trafficking report downgrades China

Tillerson accuses Beijing of "complicity in trafficking" of defectors and workers

The U.S. State Department released its annual Trafficking in Persons Report on Tuesday morning, downgrading China to a Tier Three offender status.

The decision came, in part, because of Beijing's “not taking serious steps to end its own complicity in trafficking – including forced laborers from North Korea that are located in China,” said Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
