President Moon Jae-in says he will go to U.S. for N. Korea talks “immediately”

President also says he will travel to North Korea if conditions allow it

South Korea's new President Moon Jae-in pledged that he will visit Washington D.C. to discuss North Korea as soon as possible "if necessary", in a Presidential inauguration speech at the National Assembly at noon in Seoul.

In the speech, he also said he would seek to visit North Korea if conditions permitted it, and pledged to meet with South Korea's neighbors in the near future to resolve disagreements over the deployment of the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system and to find common approaches to dealing with North Korea.
