North Korea has developed a three-dimensional distribution map of natural energy and fishery stocks in the country using satellite-based geospatial technology, state-run outlets DPRK Today and Arirang-Meari reported on Sunday.

The DPRK’s Global Environmental Information Institute, part of the State Academy of Sciences, developed the tools within the framework of “3S” technology, it added.

3S includes Global Position System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS), according to the reports, which added that RS and GPS are satellite-based.
