Using satellite-based tech, N.Korea develops 3D energy mapping system

DPRK is investigating natural energy distribution to overcome energy shortages, expert argues

North Korea has developed a three-dimensional distribution map of natural energy and fishery stocks in the country using satellite-based geospatial technology, state-run outlets DPRK Today and Arirang-Meari reported on Sunday.

The DPRK's Global Environmental Information Institute, part of the State Academy of Sciences, developed the tools within the framework of “3S" technology, it added.
