North Korea attempted to launch a missile on Sunday morning, local time, though the test ended in failure, the U.S. and South Korean governments said.

The failed launch took place near Sinpo, on the DPRK’s east coast and comes just one day after the 105th Day of the Sun military parade in Pyongyang.

“North Korea has launched an unidentified ballistic missile today early morning near the Sinpo region, but (the launch) failed,” the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (ROK JCS) told local media.
