China is considering “unprecedented” sanctions on North Korea – including restricting oil exports – should it conduct another nuclear test, a Chinese state-owned newspaper said on Wednesday.

Beijing may no longer remain indifferent to Pyongyang’s violation of the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, an article in Huan Qiu (The Global Times) said, adding that “a situation of no solution will not be accepted.”

“More and more Chinese support the view that the government should enhance sanctions over Pyongyang’s nuclear activities,” the article said.
