The family of Kim Jong Nam has handed over decision-making about what should be done with his corpse over to Malaysia’s government, the country’s Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim announced on Thursday.

Deliberations on how to manage his remains are still ongoing, he added.

“From what I understand, the family of Kim Jong Nam wants our government to manage his body,” local outlet New Straits Times quoted Noor Rashid as saying. “They have given their consent.”

Whether or not the body will be handed over to the North Korean government, however, is another question, and Rashid said
