N.Korean worker in Russia to be sent home after over ten years as a fugitive

Laborer should be protected as refugee based on the principle of nonrefoulement, says expert

Russian judicial authorities have ruled that a North Korean worker who escaped from his workplace over ten years ago will be deported, multiple Russian local media outlets reported over the weekend.

The court of Vsevolozhsky District decided to deport the North Korean worker since he stayed in Russia illegally, Russia’s Fontanka and Kommersant reported on Saturday and Sunday.
