Lawmaker and scholars call for Kaesong Industrial Complex reopening

A year on, over 50 percent of South Koreans wanted KIC to be resumed: National Assembly poll

A South Korean lawmaker, scholars, and former officials from the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) called for the reopening of the industrial park in a seminar held on Thursday at the National Assembly.

“I firmly believe international sanctions must be imposed on Pyongyang for its bad behavior,” Chung Sye-kyun, the Chairman of the National Assembly said, referring to North Korea's past nuclear and missile tests. “However... international sanctions alone will not resolve North Korea’s nuclear issue.”
