The United Nations 1718 Committee has updated its website to include tracking of UN member state imports of North Korea coal.

The website will update in real time upon receiving notification from UN member states about their purchases of what is the North’s most valuable export commodity.

On November 30, the UN Security Council (UNSC) passed a resolution which is estimated to cut North Korea’s coal revenues by roughly 60 percent.

Resolution 2321 permits “total exports to all Member States of coal originating in the DPRK that in the aggregate do not exceed… 400,870,018 US dollars or 7,500,000 metric tons
