North Korea mentions Trump for first time since election

Article gives no indication about Pyongyang's position on Trump

North Korea has broken a roughly week-long silence and mentioned President-elect Trump – but state media is yet to comment on whether they welcome the new commander-in-chief.

“(Members of the South’s Saenuri Party) are trumpeting about an ‘operation of Trump emergency system’ and ‘supra-partisan counteraction for settling security and economic issues’ in a bid to use even the (result of) U.S. presidential election as an emergency measure,” an official commentary in KCNA said on Wednesday.

In contrast to the national news agency’s partial coverage of Trump, North Korea’s most read newspaper, Workers’ Party organ the Rodong Sinmun,remained silent and
