American Brexit? Trump and the Korean peninsula

The impact of Trump's election on East Asia may be being overstated, but the future is uncertain

Donald Trump ran a campaign that was virtually devoid of serious policy proposals. His style combined vague aspirations - “Make America Great Again” - played against dark, even apocalyptic, mood music: decay, threats both domestic and foreign, elite corruption and a rigged system.

As a result, any effort to project how his administration will deal with policy issues, let alone anything so focused as the Korean peninsula, is a fools errand.
