South Korean President intends to start a war, lawmaker claims

Allegations come amid controversy around President's Armed Forces Day speech

South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s speech last week urging North Koreans to defect has drawn heated debate, after a lawmaker relayed a message from a former high-profile military official arguing that Park intends to start a war by provoking North Korea.

Choi Gyung-hwan, a lawmaker from the minor opposition People’s Party, argued on Tuesday that Park had “intentionally” ramped up military tensions on the Korean peninsula with her comments.
